Welcome to the website of Night P.I. (“the Agency”). By accessing or using this website (www.nightpi.ca), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read these terms carefully before navigating our website or submitting any inquiries.
Licensed Entity: Night P.I. is a private investigative agency licensed by the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General under Agency Licence #30000514.
Capacity of Operation: The Agency operates strictly in an investigative capacity to provide information regarding the character, actions, business, occupation, or whereabouts of persons or property in accordance with Section 2(2) and 2(3) of the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA).
Exclusion of Security Services: Night P.I. does not offer private security guard, patrol, or bodyguard services, and our operations are conducted solely in plainclothes.
Prohibited Terminology: In compliance with Section 40 of the PSISA, we do not use, and do not authorize the use of, the terms “Detective,” “Private Detective,” “Law enforcement,” “Police,” or “Officer”.
No Contractual Obligation: The presentation of services, resources, and articles on this website is for informational purposes only.
Execution Prerequisite: Accessing this website, submitting an inquiry, or initiating a phone call does not establish a professional or legally binding investigator-client relationship. An investigation will only commence once:
A mandatory conflict-of-interest check has been completed and cleared by the Agency.
An official, written Master Service & Retainer Agreement has been fully executed by both parties.
A consumable retainer has been successfully paid and cleared.
Permitted Purpose: By contacting us or requesting our services, you warrant that you are seeking assistance for a lawful, legitimate interest (such as litigation support, due diligence, skip tracing, or asset verification).
Statutory Compliance Screening: We do not accept assignments that involve unlawful stalking, harassment, or violations of the Trespass to Property Act.
Legal Red Flags: Under our strict screening protocol, we will immediately decline any case if an active restraining order, peace bond, or family court order prohibits proximity or contact between the retaining client and the subject of the investigation.
Proprietary Branding: The Night P.I. brand, including our custom circular detective silhouette logo, typography, site copy, and layouts, is the exclusive intellectual property of the Agency and is protected under Canadian copyright laws.
Prohibited Actions: You may not copy, scrape, modify, or redistribute any visual assets, images, or content from this website without express written consent from the Principal Investigator.
Symbol of Authority Prohibition: In compliance with Section 34(2) of the PSISA, we strictly do not possess, utilize, or display metal badges or other unauthorized symbols of authority on this site.
Factual & Objective Standard: The information provided on this website is provided "as is" for general interest.
Investigative Reality: Due to the nature of private investigation, Night P.I. does not guarantee a specific outcome for any active field case. Our services are provided on a "best efforts" basis, and any fees outlined in a client contract pay for professional time, specialized technology, and objective reporting—regardless of the final evidence obtained.
Third-Party Information: While we utilize professional research registries and data streams, we are not liable for inaccuracies in third-party public records.
Federal Compliance: All client communications and personal data collected through this website are handled in strict compliance with our Privacy Policy and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Data Safeguards: Sensitive client files and contemporaneous notes are maintained in secure, AES-256 bit encrypted storage environments with multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Provincial Retention Mandate: In compliance with Ontario Regulation 367/07, all records, reports, and daily logs must be retained securely for a minimum of two (2) years before destruction.
